New Steen for St Vigeans

The wee Angus village o St Vigeans near Arbroath has a big history. It’s een o the maist important Pictish sites in Scotland an is hame tae een o the biggest collections o Pictish steens. An their’s gaan tae be a new een added.

David McGovern o Monikie Rock art wis commissioned tae carve a new Steen for St Vigeans, tae celebrate the 700th anniversary o the Declaration o Arbroath. 

Earlier this year, Frieda Morrison jined David in his workshop at Monikie – watchin as he chipped awa wi his hemmer an his chisel – tae see an hear aboot the new Steen.
